IndyMac is adding retail at a fast pace in CA. They are picking up entire branches. There seems to be a battle between the original retail management and the AHM management that came in when many of the AHM (American Home Mortgage)branches were aquired. In my opinion they are doing a poor job with retail. The systems for origination and processing are about the worst I have seen in over 20 years in the business. Common sense seems to take a back seat to the "because this is the way we do it" mentality. I think they still have a decent product mix although the jumbo pricing needs some work.
