They basically intimated that they had no one to sell it to - so they had to sell direct to Fannie and apparently that is less profitable than going through an intermediary.

How is it LESS profitable to sell direct to the Agencies? Please explain.

I suppose because there are different contracts for different sellers - but I'm just guessing and my point was to repeat what I was told - I really have no idea how the pricing works

The intermediary pays a service release premium. Agencies do not.
