Do something useful with your life, instead of living off the buying and selling of others?

Become a loan auditor/researcher and work directly with specially trained foreclosure defense attorneys.

This fledgling industry is going to boom.

Of course, many scammers will enter the industry but the gov will sort them out quickly in the same manner that the loan mod biz was "modified."

Never charge the consumers directly. Work directly for the attorneys, instead.

Contact me and I will give you free advice on how to start up your own loan investigation firm.

The next bubble is the LITIGATION bubble.

Clean up your neighborhood, your industry, and your country. Make a reasonable living and feel good about helping the consumers.

If not, counsel homeowners for FREE! You will feel better and regain control over your life.

This is not the end, merely a new beginning!

Dear cb2112,

I have been looking to purchase a business for a while. I am signed up with most of the internet sale sites. The biggest frustration that I am having is dealing with the Business Broker! Most of them cannot answer questions about the business, they will not allow the seller and I to speak, everything has to go thru them??? They are to controlling. Same with the franchise consultants. Seems like they are only going to show you the franchise systems that pay them well!!. Any advise on how to combat with these frustrations? Please advise.

Career Changes what else can we do?

Have to put in my two cents worth here (although it's now only worth 1 cent)

The industry that I have worked in for the last 23 years is NOT 100% fraudulent as I've seen in many of the posts here. Worked as a Wholesale Rep for over 13 years and I found more fraud in the "bankers" side of the business than in the Broker's. It was easy to replace a worker not licensened, and the non licensed employee did not have responsibility for their uninformed information they gave out to the client.

What I want to know is who is going to file a class action lawsuit against someone for the Discrimination being played out here against me the Broker, while the banks are not required to follow the same rules? I don't mind the new laws as long as we ALL have to live by them!

In response to the mortgage guy who said he "loved" reading about all of us getting out of the business so he could make a killing. Let me tell you what you wish on someone else will come back to bite you in the ****. I have several good friends who i respectfully call mortgage "aces". They are top loan officers and have been such for at least 20 years. I stay in touch just to say hi and hear the stories. The stories i am hearing lately are not so pretty, one friend was downright worried!!! about his stream of income and let me tell you if anyone can produce or market to get leads he surely can!Stop gloating about someone else's pain because except for the grace of God it could be you. The market here in Atlanta has been rocked with foreclosures. If I had the money to pay cash for a house right now here i would still be worried if we were at the bottom (in otherwords the house could still be overvalued) when i purchased it.

To you other well wishers, thanks for all the encouragement. I still want to see if i can find a better fit for me but at least i dont feel like such a pariah! I keep believing that an opportunity will find me, i am too honest for politics and i certainly am too cheap to spend other people's hard earned money!

A couple of former co-workers own an office water and coffee equipment company and they offered me a sales position there. I'm giving it a go, I've gone as far as I could in mortgages and it's time to see what else is out there.

I just recently exited the mortgage biz after 14years. I was looking around at some options that I could somehow use my experience to make a living.

Landed an A.E. position in a credit consulting firm, working with LO's/RE Agents to help their clients bring up their credit scores to qual for financing.

I've learned a ton of good info about credit reporting, and how inaccurate reports really are, and what can be done in a relatively short amount of time to correct the errors.

PM me if you're interested in heading down the same path, it's a great position to utilize your knowledge, and can make a modest living if you lay the proper groundwork. You won't get rich, that's for sure. But it can be a decent supplement to your income if you're doing something else.

Yoda. You've moved onto another leach system. Good for you. I hope you lose everything this time. superstar.

For the rest of you. Buck up. You are salespeople. There are always good jobs for a good marketer/salesman. You might have to work for a foreign company but it's better than living on the street.
