Life after Banking
PostPosted: Sat Sep 01, 2012 1:44 am Reply with quoteBack to top

Long time since I've posted (many many years)

After the mortgage business, I found a job with a commercial bank as an analyst.

Worked there for 3 1/2 years until it was taken over by the FDIC (bad A & D loans in Las Vegas, mostly).

Looked for work for 13 months.

Now I have a job at an AMC as a BPO reviewer.

All the players are represented by our client list.

It's clean, honest, fun work.

I have never posted much on here, but got a lot of good information over the years.

I have been out of the business about a year now. I got back into the medical device business I was in prior to the mortgage business. I still had good production when I left, but everyday was a battle (which got old). It seemed like no matter how good of a job you did on a loan, the realtors and clients were not always happy in the end. For example close a VA loan in 30 days, but they wanted it closed in 21 days...even though you had advised them upfront that 21 days wasn't a realistic timeline. Oh well. Good luck to everyone!!

Got out in mid 08 and never looked back. Finished grad school and now teach finance to young, budding, capitalists.

With that said, I did just go back and pick up my RE license for kicks. It's much easier being the one firing the gun instead of being fired at!

Good luck to all. It was fun while it lasted.
