The balance of power has shifted to the point that 53% of the public now thinks it’s the right thing to do to have 47% of the tax paying public support them. This is the result of years of chipping away at the American Dream with social engineering. the passing of laws that take away from one group to give to another group, all in the name of “fairness” to force social changes by enacting these laws and policies.
Big government either created or made worse every problem we have today.
I would say that's a pretty good stretch. And how far back do you want to go? Just back to Bush II, Bush I, FDR or Lincoln?
@Deed in Lieu: You're making assumptions that simply are not true. There's way too many people (me included) that saw McCain as Bush III, and if you've really payed attention to the past 8 years, they really didn't want another 4 years of it. From 2000-2006 you had a Republican Presidency, Congress and SCOTUS. They didn't do poo poo. Krugman today talks about something that Barry Ritholtz talked about before the election. Republican Presidents do poo poo for job creation. Bush II had 10 months where he matched Clinton's (thank God I don't have to put a I after that!) average. That was the best Bush could do, make Clinton's average.
Complain all you want, but the gap between those that have and those that don't have keeps growing, even though somehow you think the government's doing the opposite. You want fairness, why don't we just go back to the pre-Reagan tax laws?
